Legend of Grimrock Tips

Hi,
I just wanted to write some general tips for the game Legend of Grimrock which I came to like very much. Also, if you are a veteran in this game, it probably won't be anything new to you. However, if you are new to this game and are looking for some generic tips, not the complete walkthrough, then I think you came to the right place.
Like I said, this is not the complete walkthrough. I would link to it, but I'm afraid that my blog would be again suspended for wrong links. And so, let's go without links. If you're looking for the complete walkthrough, just type it into google. The better ones should be the first few links.
Okay, on with the tips.

First, when you find sacks, don't just take the items inside. Take the sack too. It will increase your inventory space. I didn't do this from the begining and had to drop some really nice items because of it. Therefore, I suggest you take the sacks. In the begining, it may be a bit overload, but still, I think it's worth it.
Second. When you first encounter the troll, it is, I think, on floor six from the top. In all the walkthroughs I read, it says to stock up on healing potions, but I've got a better solution for you. In the walkthroughs, they will tell you a place, where you can eliminate the spiders that are there before the troll. It has closing gate. Well... Why not lure the troll there? It will allow you to rest between blows and regain your helth. Also, trolls cannot open any kind of door. As far as I know. Good to know, right?

Third. On floor Ten? I think it is ten. Well, basically, the second part of the temple. There are these weird fanatycal acolytic creatures whose name starts with G. However, that does not matter. What does, though, is the fact, that these morrons can open doors and gates that are openable from both sides. And trust me, it will complicate the situation a great deal! I admit that they can be defeated even through opening door, but still, it takes a lot more concentration to let them open it, slice them, and immediatelly close it again. And do this for as long as they breath.

Fourth. Respwaning lizards on floor nine. Use them! Use them! They give quite a lot of experience. Noone says you have to clear the game fast. Enjoy it.
If you are not using any walkthroughs to help you, I suggest trying to jump in all the trapdoors. Only, save right before you do. Some lead to secrets, but some lead to your doom. Also, look closely on the walls. There are hidden buttons. And many of them open secret doors. And in the secret doors, there are a lot of powerfull stuff. And usefull stuff too!

Fifth and last. Use your brain. And save often. The game can kill you within seconds. However, if you are not sure, you are saving in a good position, create new slot so that if it is saved at a wrong time, you can load earlier position and try a different approach.

Hope this helps some. And also, I'm not detailing the last three floors. Not at all, as I haven't completed the game yet. And probably won't for a long time. I mean, I was in the remote part of floor eleven that is just a breather between ten and twelve (The Prison), but then, I just trekked the whole way back up to level one. Why? Well... I wanted to go it again and look at every nook and cranny to find all I missed before because of the monsters. And then, I will stop by the respawning ice lizards to gain a few more levels. I think I will need it in order to beat the last three levels. No offence, but I think level twelve is not enough. Not with what I read about hordes of monsters, respwaning acolytes, golems, and of course, the undying one, or something...
Okay.

See ya.
