Hero's Heart Day 2021 was...

...heartbreaking. It was just too cruel. There was this quest. Aspenvale Academy. The style of the quest was more along the lines of a dating sim game, but with DF characters instead. And it had Tomix in it. So when they said to pick someone to focus on and go on a QuestVenture with, of course, I zeroed in on Tomix. So I'm picking all the options that would raise the relationship with him. And then it starts glitching. In a pre-programmed way. So, I start getting curious. And then the first part ends. So I have to wait a week for the second one. And I played that... Yesterday. Yes, it was yesterday. So I read through it till the end. And when they tell me to pick a partner, I pick Tomix. And what do I get instead of anything else? I get a scene of the Hero visiting Tomix's grave. Because Tomix is dead.

And yet, his soul is still missing. So where the hell is he? I'm still believing the theory that he occupies the body of his brother who lost his soul. At this point, the theory is unlikely, but hey, I'm not giving up on it. I have to believe it. Tomix is the best character out of all of them!

So yeah, this year's Hero's Heart Day was heartbreaking. At least for me. What they did to Tomix was not cool and I'm still not over it. And I don't plan on getting over it. Not unless they bring him back. I know I wrote a ranting post about his death almost right after I finished the Void ship saga. For the record, I no longer ship Tomix and Warlic in the romantic sense of the word. But I do enjoy fluff between those two. Gimme fluff. I'm probably gonna have to go and re-read the one sole fic that has some serious fluff between Warlic and Tomix that exists. Seriously, DF is such a well of possible fanfiction ideas, and yet... There's not that much unless you count all the stories with a female Hero paired with one of the NPCs. And that is not something I like.

Really! It's not fair! It's always my favorite character that has to bite the dust! I hate this! What am I doing wrong? Am I picking the wrong favorites? At least The Untamed had a happy ending. Even if they didn't kiss... (In the drama).

Done. I'm done. I just needed to scream a little about this.

See you later.

Captain Rolith?! WTF?!

I don't know why, but this looks like Captain Rolith from DragonFable. I don't know how that happened, but it did. It's done in charcoal and I love how it turned out. But I still can't get over the fact it looks like Rolith.

Good? Bad? Dark? Light?

So, yesterday (or was it today?) I got the idea to rehash an old post. It talks about the difference between evil and darkness. And I went on a tangent there. One that really took away from the main idea of the post. So, before we get into it, I'll get that tangent out of the way.
It talked about the elements and how I categorize them. Most people would think that there are four main elements. Well, in my opinion, that's just wrong. I say there are seven. And this way of thinking was heavily influenced by Naruto and even more by Dragon Fable. So, seven elements - Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Lightning, Light, and Darkness. Naruto also gave me the idea of secondary elements. And DragonFable gave me the idea of almost anything being an element. Considering they have elements like Void, Silver, ???, Ebil, and many others (Including Bacon). And this classification of elements is a big part of the reason why I don't consider evil the equivalent of Darkness.

(We are not getting into the topic of Evil and Good being elements too!!! Blame that one on DragonFable!!!)

So, if Darkness is an element, how can it be the equivalent of evil? I mean, you can do as much evil with fire or lightning. I believe that all elements are, at their core, neutral. And it's up to the people who use them to decide if they are used for good or evil. And it's that way with everything. Nothing is, by itself, aligned to either good or bad. It's always the intention behind the use of objects (elements) that decides whether it's good or bad.
To give a bit more real-world example. A Gun. It's just an object. It is neither good nor bad. Not by itself. But it can be used for both. And that is something that depends on the wielder. It can be used to murder someone. It can also be used to hunt and thus provide food for an otherwise starving family.
It's not things/objects that are good/bad. It's actions. Most of the actions you do during your day can be classified as either good or bad. I'm not disputing the existence of a neutral action, but I also believe that a true neutral action is rare.
Good and evil can't simply be classified as going either right or left and neutral straight ahead. There's no way that the paths are that simple. A lot of the time, you won't even know what alignment your actions actually have until much later. And while sometimes, it may seem or indeed even be that simple, again, I don't believe that this is the rule. More often than not, your actions will have ambiguous consequences instead of a clear alignment.
And as much as we probably all want to do good instead of bad, I also think that this makes the world more interesting. The way it's not always black or white. The line is blurred. Always has been and always will be.
As they say in stories, you can't have the good without the bad. Just make sure that if you're throwing a neutral into the mix as well, it's not a chaotic one. (Learned that one through D&D)

Well, that's about it. I'm not sure if I managed to stay on topic better this time, but at the same time, I think this is a bit more cohesive than the old post. And if nothing else, it's definitely longer and I consider that one a nice bonus.
See you in the next post.

Bring Him Back!

I'm talking about Tomix from DragonFable. He's one of my favorite characters. Along with Warlic. However, I just finished the Book 3 Ravenloss Saga - aka the Void Ship, and I'm angry. They killed him! Tomix is dead, but his spirit is not where it should be, so there's a bit of hope left. Not much, but I'm gonna hold on to it and not let go for anything! They brought Warlic back, they will bring Tomix back if they know what's good for them!
Oh, and for the record, I totally ship Warlic and Tomix! Deal with it.

Monsters

Okay, this time, it's two pictures from Adventure Quest game and DragonFable game. But for my sake, let's say they are both from DF. The first one is a monster called Mermazon. It is actually a second attempt. The first one was lost in time, but I know, that I did this once before. With slightly different colors. Not much, but yes. I like this version though. It's better and the lines are cleaner and neater.

This second picture is what I like to call a blob. Yes, a weird name, but that's what it is. In DF, it has many names. Based on it's elemental properties. Sometimes, it's lava glob, sometimes it is called necro slime, or something. Like I said, many names. But in general, it's still a blob. And this onen is blue. And original, because I based the shape on it, but in the end, didn't use any reference. Only my own memory.

Okay, hope you liked it at least a little bit. And if you did, head over to the game and try it. It's not bad. I admit, I haven't played it in like a year, or so, but still, a game, that I will eventually go back to. When the rest of the stuff I play, will be boring.
 See ya.

Haima

My used to be DF rogue character. I don't have her anymore. But never mind that, I don't play rogues anymore either. At least not in DragonFable. They seem weak. At least in this game. As for the picture itself, I like how the shading is done. I'm not sure about the neck, it looks a bit of... Something about it just doesn't seem right. Doesn't matter... As a whole, I like this picture. Maybe not so much as some of my other pictures, like Hisoka, or Leon or Atobe, but yes, I like it.

See ya.

Digital DF dragon

This is a very old picture of a newly hatched DF dragon pet. It's done in PhotoFiltre and with a mouse. It was my first half serious attempt at digital drawing. For that, I think it's not so bad. Maybe I'll do another version that would be done in Photoshop and with a tablet. I'm not sure though. Anyway, tell me what you think, okay?

 See ya.

Digital Daniel

Hi, this time, I've got a digital picture for ya. It's again my character Daniel from DF. This time, however, it's not a spin of but the actuall character. Done with mouse, as it was when I didn't have a tablet yet. For a mouse, I think it's not so bad. As for the background, it's done with the help of a mask. I had a version without the stars, but I like this one better. : ) And you? What do you think?

See ya.

Daniel in markers

Hi,
I've got two pictures. Old. Several years old, to be honest. Both are based on DragonFable though. This first one is a spin of of my character Daniel. A mage. In original, he's all in black and has a different staff. This staff is based on Yu-Gi-Oh!'s Dark Magician's staff. Also, this is one of my first tries using the Faber Castel brush nib markers. And for about second or so try, I think it's pretty damn good!

And as for this second one, it was done some time later. Also with the markers. Only, it's not really a DF character. Based on it, yes. Still, it's Daniel. Only more futuristic, or even post-apocalyptic. As for the pose, it's weird. Very much so. Also, at the very begining, the picture was based on the song Guardian Angel from Groove Coverage. Nope, not one of my better works. Definitely not.

See ya.
