The Worst Witch [All series]

Well, I finally re-watched the whole thing yesterday. And by the whole thing, I mean all of the different series, excluding only the Weirdsister College. I might do that as well if I really have nothing else to watch, but so far, I do have some things left. Back to the Worst witch. The 2017 remake is the best. Honestly. Pippa Pentangle and Hecate Hardbroom are the absolute best thing in the whole thing. Bummer Pippa is in only two episodes. Oh well… Nothing to do about it now. I mean, nothing against the original series or the 'New Worst Witch', but the remake is the best. Yes, a lot of the things there are very much different than what's in the original, but I think it actually makes it better. New things for us to see while keeping some of the old. For example, we get more of Mildred's backstory and even get to see her mom and, by season 4, her dad.

The Untamed [2019]

Well, get ready for a lot of gushing. I love that show. And yes. The Untamed is a show. Normally, I would link to IMDB but when I'm writing about something more Asian, I prefer to link to sites specifically dedicated to those. Most of the time, I'm watching JDramas and Movies, but recently, I discovered that the Chinese might be a bunch of prudes, but hey, they know how to make an awesome historical drama. Well, this would probably be more wuxia/fantasy, but still, I'm gonna go with the historical fantasy genre here.
So, I should also probably mention that it's BL (Boys Love). Well, at least the book this is based on is, the drama itself, more of an intense bromance. But like I said, that's because the Chinese are a bunch of prudes. Seriously, if nothing else, they could have included at least a single kiss at the very end of the last episode where they reunite.

The Umbrella Academy - Season 1 [2019]

Before I watched I'm Not Okay With This, I watched The Umbrella Academy. At first, I was a little iffy about it. I was delaying watching it all the time, thinking it wouldn't be all that interesting. Well, I take it all back. The show is awesome! And, it seems like I have a thing about shows based on comic books.
Yes, The Umbrella Academy is also based on a comic book. Unlike I'm Not Okay With This, it has several volumes. I haven't done any research on the comics. The only thing I know is that the White Violin - Vanya, looks completely different in the show. In the comic books, she becomes the White Violin. But here, played by Ellen Page, they took a different approach to it. And I think they did great. The way they show the transformation from Vanya to the White Violin is awesome. Her black suit becomes white and even the violin she's playing changes color. She's also surrounded by this white halo!
I wanted to link to the scene, but that specific scene is nowhere to be found, so just watch the whole show. And pay extra attention during the last episode because that transformation is truly epic!

I'm not okay with this - Season 1 [2020]

I watch (listen to) youtube a lot. And sometimes, they put video ads in there. Which I'm sure you all know. Well, I get a lot of Netflix ads. And while a lot of those are boring, sometimes, something good comes out of them. Like the Witcher. That was great. But then I got nothing for a while. Oh, I got Netflix ads alright, but boring ones. Took a while to get something interesting again. But I did.
A show called I'm not okay with this. At first, I was like meh... Should I even watch this? But then I realized that the main actress is the same that played Beverly Marsh in Stephen King's IT. Well, the movie version obviously isn't King's, but you get what I mean, right?

Charmed [2018]

So, I just wanted to go complain to my dad about something and he's not home. So I will rant here. I recently found the new Charmed reboot. Quite accidentally. I saw the title "Charmed" and thought that someone uploaded the old show and so I thought I would watch it again. Well, turns out that it's a new reboot. New cast, college-aged witches... Lame whitelighter. Seriously, they copied absolutely everything... Dead mother, the charmed symbol, even the powers, exactly the powers... Only, the sisters have names that start with M and are not Halliwells.
The least the producers could have done is to not re-use the old name... Couldn't they have used some kind of a variation? So that I and many others wouldn't be misled by the name? I thought it was the old show, I didn't look at the picture, just the name...
If they made this show without associating it with the original Charmed, it would have been kinda good, but that association ruined it. I grew up watching the original Charmed show and now, I'm comparing the new one to it and keep finding flaws and stuff that makes me cringe when I remember how it went in the original...
Like, if you've never seen the old show, it's not too bad, you will probably even enjoy it, but I just can't. I keep ripping it apart, thinking it should happen differently...
I don't even have words for this. They messed up and I just couldn't keep quiet. That's it.

P.S. I added pictures with similar settings from both shows. Just for comparsion.

Almost Human [2013-2014]

I had two reasons to start watching this show. One, it stars Karl Urban. Two, there are a lot of fanfictions and when I browse AO3 based on tags, I have to sift through a lot of them and since I wasn't in the fandom yet, it was annoying. Now, I'm probably gonna start reading these. Especially if there's slash. Hopefully, there will be the good pairings.
At the moment, I've been through a little more than 10 episodes. Very good! So good that I am actually really paying attention to it. Instead of my usual way of watching stuff that has English audio - basically just listening while doing something else on another tab. Or listening while playing Dungeon Hunter 4.
Well, something about the show, it takes place in the future, but not too distant. Cops are paired with androids. And since so far, all the cop androids are male, I'm gonna call them mandroid. Yes, it's probably a horrible word to use, but hey, I've always wanted to use it in some context. So, the main character, played by Karl Urban, is, after some botched operation that left him with synthetic leg, paired with the usual droid model. The MX. But they are too emotionless, too robotic. And he kicks it out of his car while driving. Then he gets paired with the DRN model. At least I think that's how you spell it. He calls this one Dorian. And then they go and solve a multitude of cases. All the while the MC - his name is John - is trying to find information on this syndicate that is somehow connected to his ex-girlfriend. The syndicate is responsible for John losing his leg and having to have a synthetic.
I couldn't spoil the ending even if I wanted to, seeing as I haven't finished watching it. But it's really good so far and if you're into futuristic cop dramas or like Karl Urban, I do recommend it. And even if you're not, maybe you'll like it if you give it a try.
But I'm not forcing anybody. So make your own mind.
Bye!

Agents of SHIELD

(Written on 16. 9. 2014)

Today, I finished watching the first season of Agents of SHIELD. It was awesome and with several twists I didn't expect. Like, who turned out to be the clairvoyant and also that Ward was Hydra. Well, I did expect that a little, as it was a part of a story I read, but still... Well, the good part is that they caught him and there were a lot of funny parts.
Like, at the end, there was Coulson going back for a "thing" and firing it and obliterating the clairvoyant who wasn't really clairvoyant.
There will also be a second season, so I'm very much looking forward to it. And how Coulson will rebuild SHIELD. That will surely be interesting.

This show is really good and I loved it. Also the fact, that it is Marvel is a good thing. Right now, I'm pretty much obsessed with anything that is Marvel, so I watch anything and everything I can get my hand son. Including non-Marvel movies that have the Avengers cast playing in them.
And it will probably not stop there and I will look also into stuff that has Coulson's team playing in it.

And what about you, dear readers? Do you like Marvel and more specifically Agents of SHIELD? If yes, what did you like the most? For me it was the fact that Coulson was alive and kicking ass. Also, I love Skye's hacking skills and the bickering between Fitz and Simmons. It's hillarious.
On the other hand, I was really hoping that maybe Hawkeye or Black Widow would appear on it for at least one episode, but no, they didn't... Well, we did get to see Sif in one ep... But that's not enough. So I hope that one of the two I mentioned will be on season 2. Even if just for one episode. One episode would be enough and Hawkeye is such an underappreciated Avenger... I think he should have more screen time.

Okay, I will shut up now and let you make heads and tails of this post.
And as for coments, they would make me happy, so if you have something to say, say it!

The Saddle Club

Yesterday, I saw the last episode of the series Saddle club. I've been watching it on and off for a while now. I'm not sure which season I like the most... I mean, all have some better and some worse episodes. Though if I really had to choose, I'd probably pick the part where Dorothee is. Which means the first part of season 2. But I prefer the actors from season 3. At least for the saddle club girls. And I like Simon. He livened things up.
On the other hand, I was kinda missing Red and Kristie from the last season. Though Trouble the donkey more than made up for them. And Jack wasn't bad either.
So, what is the series about anyway?
It is about three girls who love horses and form a club together. During the series they encounter different problems, be it Veronika, the annoying rich girls or some problems between them.
Each season has a strong ending, and most of the episodes are pretty interesting. If I remember correctly, I only skipped one episode. And that was because that one didn't interest me.
Sure the show is ment for kids, but it is pretty decent. It's definitely watchable even if you're not a kid. On the other hand, the books it is based on, are pretty terrible. I gave up after not even a full chlapter. If I were to say what it was like, I'll qoute my mom: "It's a badly written horse-riding guide."
And I agree with that.
The books are not worth it, but the series ain't bad.
So, the main characters are Carrole, Stevie and Lisa. The main antagonist (who sometimes does the right thing) is Veronica and then there are some of the more minor characters. In the first series it's Red, Kristie, Melanie and Ashley as well as Phill (NOT COULSON :D). In second series, we gain Dorothee for the first half and some other characters make repeated appearance.
And finally, in the last season, apart from the cast being completely new, we have no Ashley, but gain Jenn as well as Trouble the donkey. We also switch Red for Jack and gain Dezi during the season.
Oh, and for Thor maniacs, in one of the episodes (I think it's in the second season), young Chris Hemsworth plays a new vet. Well, young... Younger. But it's interesting. You can recognize him for his eyes and lips, but other than that, he looks completely different. And has short hair!
So, if you're into horses, this is a pretty decent thing, even though it has girls as pretty much every important character. I'm not much for things where main characters are girls, but this one is not that bad. Though if they did a version where the main characters are guys... Or out right a gay version, I'd be watching it in a heartbeat!
See ya!

BBC's Sherlock: The Blind Banker

I just finished the second episode of this epic TV Series. And while it may be a bit hard to describe, I really did enjoy it. That is, apart from the "circus" scene, which was a bit boring.
So, the gist of it is that Sherlock is hired to check some bank security or something as there was a message left in yellow paint. This leads to three serial murders in which the first two look like suicides - at first. But only to the detective inspector, who in this episode isn't Lestrade and whose name I didn't catch. So Sherlock sees through it and declares it murderes and then tries to decode the messages, which leads them to the circus and some weird chinese organization - Black lotus or something, that smugle things and sell them.
This organization lost one of their items and are trying to get it back. In the end, they kidnap John thinking he's Sherlock. And Sherlock decodes the message with the usage of the right book and then goes to save John's but, who in turn saves the life of the girl being held hostage with him.
And it all ends with them finding the item in question and revealing it's value to the girl who it has been given to by one of the people who were murdered.
Lastly there is this scene with the boss of the organization who is on video chat with - obviously - Moriarty, even though it's not explicitly said or anything. She says she will not reveil his identity and he agrees she wont and then she's shot - probably by a sniper of some kind.

And that's the end of the episode.
I have to say I enjoyed it, even though the first one was better. Somehow lighter and funnier. I'm gonna be watching the rest soon, but probably not right now, I like to have a bit of time between the episodes, and in the meantime watch SHIELD or something similar.
As for SHIELD, I will probably not write about it. Or, if I will, it will not be detailing every single episode, as I'm already on episode 12 or something like that. I might write something about it when I'm donen with it, but I'm not making any promises.

Well, there is one promise I will make, annd that's that I will post here more often. And if I have nothing to write, I will at least post some of the photos I have in my folder that are yet to be published.
See ya soon!

BBC's Sherlock: Study in Pink

Yesterday I started watching BBC's Sherlock. For second time, but last time, I only got as far as the first episode of second season. So I'm watching it all again and will continue with all seasons. The first episode was the Study in Pink. I saw both versions. The "unaired pilot epiosde" and the actual episode that is like 80 minutes long.
It all starts with John moving in with Sherlock and then they are dragged into a case of serial suicides that are actually murders.
It all starts with Lestrade informing them (Sherlock) of another of the murders and they then follow him to the crime scene where Sherlock does his deduction thing and after that leaves in search of a pink suitcase. After that he texts John who is in the meantime kidnapped by Mycroft.
And after saying it will be dangerous, John comes and they end up chasing a taxi through London. Of course that doesn't go that well, even though they do catch it. The one thing it does solve is John's psychosomatic (did I spell that right?) limp. After that, Lestrade barges in on a drug search or something and they end up tracking the victim's phonne.
Sherlock then walks out and gets into this cab that is driven by the murderer. They end up in some place with long tables (I think they said something about it being a college or something similar). There, Sherlock faces of with the murderer in a game. Two pills, one kills and the other does nothing. And only the cabbie knows which is which. It's up to Sherlock to chose, but it's interrupted by John at the last moment, as he shots the cabbie.
Whith his last breath, the cabbie reveals the name of the mastermind behind the crime, even though it was the cabbie who did it. The mastermind's name is Moriarty.
After that Lestrade arrives and Sherlock realizes that it was John who shot the cabbie and the two of them leave while laughing.
Before they can leave completely, they are intercepted by Mycroft, who is Sherlock's brother and the two Holmses argue a bit. After that the episode ends with Sherlock adn John leaving. Probably in the direction of 221 B Baker Street.

This episode is good. I like it a lot. I think it's one of the lighter ones, but I can't really judge as I only saw a few so far.
I will post updates on all the episodes as I see them.
I also promise to write more. I don't like how I'm not adding anything and therefore I will write more. I don't know how often I will add something, but I will, I promise. I will never abandon this site for good.

The Neverending Story

The internet's a bitch! A real big one!
Okay, I should probably start at the begining. You see, when I was little, there was this TV series. It was called The neverending story. And, it was live action, not animated! And that's the problem. Whenever I try to look that up, all I get is the animated series which I'm so not interested in!

And, this one, the live action one, is nowhere to be found! Which is lame! I mean, come on! It's way better than the animated series! Isn't there anyone who would agree with me? The thing is, I like it more than the movies, which are good, but not good enough. I guess it's because it's more connected. The Fantasya land or whatever and the real world. In the movies, it's not so connected. Also, in the series, he doesn't finish the book in one go, and I quite like that.
So, if there's anyone out there that know where to get this and watch it, I'm all ears!

See ya.
