Anywhere doors?

In response to the Daily Prompt - Pick Your Gadget.

It was hard to choose between the time travelling machine and the anywhere doors, but in the end the doors won because I've been reading too much of Simon R. Green and there are doors there that can be used to create a doorway anywhere. You can simply put them against a wall and they will let you pass through. Just don't forget to get them charget after excessive usage.
So, this is the doors from Simon R. Green's novels that I really love.

Just another day

In response to Daily Prompt.
I cannot say that I have a favourite daily ritual. But my favourite part of the day are usually evenings when I can sit down to my laptop and read/write/watch anything I want and I don't have anything else to do anymore as all I had to do is at this point usually already done.
I enjoy just sitting and writing or watching anime. It varies what I do, but it usually involves FF.net in some way. It usually also involves anilinkz.com as it is my main sourse of anime. They have a lot of it there and I think it is the biggest archive of anime on the internet since the era of phoanime.com, which I believe no longer exists.
However, now that I think about all I've written, I think there is another "kinda-sorta-ritual" that I enjoy. And that is when my mother is using my laptop to play Taptiles as I'm the only one in the family with windows 8. And during this time, I either draw or read a book. Right now I have a really good one - The Man with the Golden Torc written by Simon R. Green. I love his books, but my favourite series from him is the Night Side, however, this is just my translation of the name of the series. I'm too lazy to research it and I also think it is useless to write it in czech as noone would understand it anyway.
So, these are the "sorta kinda rituals" that I do daily or almost daily. And I enjoy them.

Chemistry, chemistry

In response to the daily prompt challenge on wordpress
A few years ago, I saw a musical based on The Prince of Tennis anime. Well, actually, it is a series of musicals, but only the first three or so have english subs. So I only watched the Dream Lives that don't really need the subs. The thing is, the first one had subs.
Also, there was this moment, they show embarassing pictures of the tennis club members. Well, Inui does and then they show Inui's. And he's makin an Inui Juice. And it overflowes. And then there's Kikumaru Eiji. And he says: "Chemistry, Chemistry."
That itself isn't that funny, but in the context, it is. And sometimes, I just remember it and I just have to laugh. Not many poeple would understannd this. Not even after watching the musical, which would require to watch the anime first, or at least read about it, but that doesn't matter.
It cheers me up and that is what matters, don't you agree?

Can't get it out of my head

Okay, so after a while, I'm responding to the Daily Prompt again. This time, it's about obsession. And I have a big one. For several years now. So, basically, I'm a girl that cannot live without slash. Reading it, watching it, whatever, but I need slash, or for those, that don't understand, I like gay stuff. Especially if the guys are hot and sexy!
I started watching shounen-ai anime in, I think it was my second grade of high school. So I was about 17 at that time. The first I watched was, I think, the anime Gravitation? Or was it not? Seriously, I don't remember. I watched too many of them at that time. Even hardcore yaoi. And then, it wasn't enough, because, there were many animes where I started to disagree with the canon couples. And not just animes.
Like... Harry Potter. I just cannot stand Giny. And there are so many guys Harry could be with! Like... Lord Voldemort, Viktor Krum, Rabastan, Bill or Charlie Weasley. So many! And yet, Rowling sticks him with little whory Giny. Nope, don't like her.
And it's not just Harry Potter, it's for example LOTR as well! I mean, Legolas and Aragorn? Who can say no to that?
There are much more. Mainly animes like Bleach, One Piece, Vanguard, what am I watching also? Oh yes, Spiral (watched that at least as many times as it has episodes). Basically, anything that has sexy guys, I go and try to find stories that have the couples I like. Which is mostly non-canon.
This same thing is true with computer games. As well as pure fantasy.
I not only read and watch slash, I also write it. First, it was only original stories, and all in czech, but recently, I got into writing in english and fanfiction. Not that much fanfiction, and it mostly centers around the computer game Legend of Grimrock, but it is slash. And it is fanfiction.
So yeah, that would be what I'm obsessed with. Slash. Can't imagine living without it. I mean, if I couldn't read it or write it, fine, I can still at least think it, but if for some reason, I couldn't even think it, it would be really bad! And I mean bad for those that forbid it!

Daily Prompt: Que Sera Sera

In answer to Wordpress's Daily Prompt.

So, after a while, I've got an answer to the Daily Prompt.
Fate... Destiny. Possible seeing of the future... But what is actually future? And how big it is? For me, future is made by decisions. And those are our own. Nothing to do with some guy named Fate up there...
So, with each decision, there is another alternative world. Another place and that place has different future than this one, because. The deicsion was different.
I don't believe in fate. It's us, people and our decisions that shape the future. Nothing else, and it shouldn't be blamed on anything else!

Five Items

Okay. It's not today's daily prompt, but still... Five items I have to have on a deserted island? Well... I'd say weapon, the blade kind. Not a gun or a bow. Then a magnifying glass, because it can make fire. What next... No clue... Something to amuse myself with, therefore, books. Or something. Next would be probably sketchbook + pens – counted as one item only.
And last... Fishing rod. Why? Well... it's an island! So I would go fishing. xD Not that I ever did, but it's never too late to learn. xD Right?

Pizza

In answer to an older Daily prompt:
My favourite dish is salami pizza. Guess I'm a bit like Dante in that. xD Hehe, never thought of it like that! Well, nevermind. I like pizza. Offer me salami pizza and I just won't be able to turn it down! It's just... You can't leave pizza just lying there! In this regard, I'm a bit like Remus Lupin from Harry Potter and his chocolate addiction.

Not that I'm addicted to pizza, but I really like it. And whenever I have the chance, I'll go for pizza. With my mother, alone, whatever, as long as it's pizza. Whenever we are out, and I'm asked what we should eat, I always suggest pizza. xD
Oh well... I know it was short, but what else do you want me to write about pizza...

The difference between darkness and evil

A while back, I realized that many people see darkness as the equivalent of evil. It's that way in a lot of stories and books which lets me to believe that even in real life people believe this.
And it is something that irks me very much. Because, darkness is not the equivalent of evil! It's NOT! If it were, it would be weird! Considering, that light is somehow considered an element, at least, by some. Me included. And if light is considered an element, why shouldn't darkness be? Which leads to my interpretation of elements. There are seven primary elements. Yes, seven, not four. They are Darkness, light, fire, earth, wind, water and lightning. Then, by combining two elements, you get different elements, those are called secondary elements. Then, combining secondary element with a primary one will get you terciary element. And then, combining anything else will get you the rest.

So, how did we get to elements from darkness and evil? Well, simply because darkness is element.
Also, evil can be done without darkness. And that in itself is a proof of it being nonequivalent!
And I should probably shut up, because I'm able to rant about this to no end. And then, there would be no end and I would never get to posting this. So there.

Inside the actor's studio

Okay, I decided, that it was time for me to again write a response to the Daily prompt. This time, there were several question to be answered. So, let's get to it.

What is your favourite word?
Well, I'm not sure if I have an actual favourite word, but I do say shees a lot. So maybe that? And if it's not that, it definitely is some kind of swearword.
What is your least favourite word?
Well, this one's easy. I hate the word pelvis with a passion! And it's my high school gym teacher's fault! I'm czech, but in my high school, we had PE in english! Together with the boys. And our teacher would, during streachign, always tell us to rotate our pelvis or to do somethign else with it. Ever since that I hate the word with a passion!
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
I'm not sure I'll be able to answer this, as even I don't know... It just happens... I'm not even sure you need a reason...
What turns you off?
My idiot father. Or boredom.
What is your favourite curse word?
Probably all of them. I use idiot, moron, dam or shit quite a lot. Oh, and SOB, which means Son of a bitch.
What sound or noise do you love?
Anything as long as there is not silence. Well, probably not anything, but I hate silence.
What sound or noise do you hate?
The alarm clock in the morning.
What profession or other than your own would you like to attempt?
Well, apart from a normal job, I always wanted to publish my own books. So that would be it. I want to be a writer. Only on the side though. I'd never rely on it to provide for me, as then it would be considered a job and it would take all the fun away from it.
What profession would you not like to do?
Hm... I probably wouldn't be a teacher. I am bad at explaining. Very bad. Noone understands my explanations even if I know a lot about the subject.
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
That's easy. I want him to say I belong in Hell! Heaven's boring! I like Hell, there are sexy demons there! Well, at least in my view of Hell. I mean, the standard view of Hell is boring!
As for me hating Heaven, blame my creative mind. I have several stories in progress where Heaven is the bad side and Hell the good one. So there.

Okay, that would be the questions. I hope you had fun reading it. some of the questions were pretty weird, but still, I'm the person that likes to answer questions, so it was fun! It would be nice to have more daily prompts like this!

It's in the description...

...or not. I will skip the part about blogs and links and will concentrate on books, as that is what comes more easily. How I choose what to read? Well, at first, it is always based on the book's cover. Then, when the cover interests me, I will pick the book up and read the summary on the back (sometimes inside). And only then I decide whether it is worth reading or not. Sometimes, when there are no interesting covers to choose from, I just go by sections. Like, crime, mystery and so on. And then, I go picking books up randomly, reading teh summary and deciding if it is worth it, or not.

Other times, I already know what I want and go by that. Meaning I for example read a good book from an author. So I go and pick another one from the same one. However, even in this case, I would read the summary first. Because, the fact that a book is written by an author whose other book I like, doesn't mean that all of his books are good.

There are also times, when I simply pick up a book I already know. Sometimes because the book was just soo good, sometimes, because it was a good laugh. Sometimes simply because I want to and don't really have a different reason. Hey, hope you will comment, hm?

Antisocial

In answer to the Daily prompt, I decided to write this. First of, I'm an antisocial person and I prefer to be alone in most cases. And I hate speaking in front of a large group of people with passion! It's not like I'm nervous about it and I can do it, if I have to, I just don't like it, and I definitely don't enjoy it. Never did, never will. And that's why whenever I have a choice to speak in front of people or to write an essay or something different, I never pick the speaking.

On the other hand, I don't mind it if it is in front of only a few people. Or if I know the people really well. Like, not a classmate level of knowing, but a close friend level of knowing. I don't think I'm shy, only antisocial and preferring solitude. Most of the time. Also, by being a loner, and not talking much, I learn a lot about the people around me. And I believe that knowledge is power therefore, I'm happy with this settings. I've got no problem with talking to people, but I prefer to stay silent.

Simply the best

I just couldn't resist today's Daily Prompt.
For starters, I know nothing about the voyager. I didn't even know that NASA was building one. But that's beside the point. As for what I think should be onboard, let's say... Some cybermonkeys, highly inteligent pigs, white ferrets and an elephant. Why? No idea. Probably because it sounds good.

Where this idea came from, I have no clue. I just wanted to turn this into something cracky. I think I'm doing a good job. Whatever. Now, lets see. The elephant would be the captain on the ship. The ferrets would be taking care of maintnance of the ship. The cybermonkeys would obviously pilot it and take care of everything that comes with it. And the pigs would be in charge of meals and cleaning. Oh, and one of the pigs would be named TonTon.

Heh, I'm getting of topic. Whatever.
Just don't take this seriously. I just wanted to write something that would make no sense. Thanks for reading.
See ya.

Future is not set in stone

First of, I want to say that this is not exactly Daily Prompt answer. While the title is the answer to it, I decided to take a different point of view. For a long time I belived (and still do) that future is not set in stone. Never was, never will be. Yes, there are possible futures, but in the end, it all comes to our decisions. With each decision the future splits into more and more paths. If we were in a world where magic was real, I'd say that with each decision a new alternative reality is created. And I mean with each decision of every person, because it all connects. The decision of one can affect many others.

Alas, we are not in a world swirling with magic, and even if we were, I wouldn't try to predict my future. Because, by knowing or even trying to know your future, you're limiting your options. With the future known, you can only chose two paths. The one that strives for it or the one that will try to avoid it. When you don't know what will happen, you are not restricted by this and therefore free to think of something you might not otherwise. Future should remain unknown until it becomes present, because all predictions and prphecies are self fulfiling. And that is just plain stupid! And anyway, why would you wanna know your own future? It takes away all the fun!

Procrastination

I have this bad habit of postponing anything important that I have to do. I would say that I have still a lot of time and say that I'll do it tomorrow. Then that day I would say tomorrow again... I need to learn to do things as soon as I can, but seem to be unable to do so. Yes, unfortunately I'm lazy like that. And it is not that great.

So I decided that I would start doing things as soon as I can. Now, the only thing that's left is to actually do so. And I do hope I will be able to do it. It would help me greatly with SO many things... So... Let's just wait and see.

Excitement over the smallest things

I was thinking about things thas get me excited. I wanted to write about someting big, something that is unique. But, then I got a different idea. Why not focus on the smallest things. Because, in the end, it's the smallest things that matter. And there's a lot of thigns that get me excited. Sometimes it is a great song I happen about, other times it is seeing my cat after not seeing him for several days. (He comes and goes as he pleases) Again, other times it may be the excitement of a drawing that I'm happy with, or the excitement of an idea for a story.

There are tons of things that can be exciting. You just have to be able to look for them. You won't see them on the first glance but they're there. Even something as stupid as being excited because it is a nice day out there. For me, there are also many things that I know would not excite many, but hey, it works. I mean, who would be excited over a new pencil? Other than me... xD So just look for the good in life even if you're pessimistic realist like I am and you will be excited by many things.

I am a rock

Just so you know, this was originaly published by me on wordpress. But I decided that blogspot's better, so I'm reposting everything from there to here.

I just read the daily prompt and decided to write something to go with that topic. It is about asking for help and relying on myself. And to be honest, I prefer to rely on myself. Yes, I do ask for help when there is no other choice, but if I can solve a problém on my own, I do so. I guess that it has to do with the fact that I'm a loner. I enjoy being alone and therefore when something happens, I try to deal with it myself.
Maybe it is not the best thing to do, but as long as I know that there are people that I can turn to when I realy do need help, it's okay to rely mostly on myself.
So far, this setup worked for me quite well. I'm not saying it worked always, but what does? Nothing works all the time. Things malfunction, flukes happen, or a technical glitch. Hey, just on the side, I like the word glitch.

But that's beside the point.
The fatc that I prefer to rely on myself, it may also have to do with the fact that I never was comfortable with showing emotions to others. Hell, I'm not comfortable with showing them to myself. I'm about as emotional as a rock. Heh, guess the title fits good then.
Okay, that's enough. I'm just ramblign now.
See ya.
